Hmm... I never got into the Batman movies. I've seen maybe one of them.
Maybe I should do the 1?

Most certainly.
The character that is BRUCE WAYNE and BATMAN is a simplistically complex individual, who often delves philosophically into many aspects of the topics that are in discussion here.
As far as the comics go, there really is no real place to "begin", however this movie serves as a perfect "beginning" for potential viewers.

So I guess this movie engulfs the birth of Batman, huh?

So I guess this movie engulfs the birth of Batman, huh? Both physically, and philosophically. PEACE

Batman was good. Batman Returns was good. I have no comment on the rest of them. This one however, was almost flawless. I do have some complaints though. Let me get those out of the way. First of all, the fight editing was AWFUL. Not Bourne Supremacy bad, but bad. Some of the fights I understand were intentionally obscured, but the opening fight was just a mess. I also was underwhelmed by the score. Too subtle. My last beef is that Scarecrow could've been much more fearsome. I really had no idea what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised the first few times we saw him. However, I would've preferred to see more powerful imagery use towards the end. Really a bit of a waste, but Scarecrow was done MUCH better than he should've been in the first place, so I'm more than thrilled at his portayel here. One of the best comic book movie villains ever.
Some spoilers
Now, for the good stuff. I loved Al Ghul. His comeback was most excellent. Is Ras Al Ghul immortal? Are his methods supernatural? Hopefully the answer is "Yes", though there's no definitive answer in this movie. Then we have Scarecrow going from geek to ghoul with a mask and a touch of poison. EXCELLENT. Batman himself was flawless. He was rocking all BLACK and really eximplified the concept of the dark knight. Simply excellent. Anyways, I could go on for a while about how much ass this kicked, but theres no need. This movie owned.
