this has tons of similarities to La Vey's Satanic Bible which he ripped off of Crowley and an obscure 1896 tract - Might is Right by Ragnar Redbeard... Actually the "Nine Satanic Statements", are supposedly paraphrased from Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged. fcos.us//aslv.htmlHere are the 11 Satanic Rules of Earth so you can see the similarities for yourself: I Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked. II Do not tell your troubles to others unless you are sure that they want to hear them. III When in another's lair, show him respect or else do not go there. IV If a guest in your lair annoys you, treat him cruelly and without mercy. V Do not make sexual advances unless you are given the mating signal. VI Do not take that which does not belong to you unless it is a burden to the person and he cries out to be relieved. VII Acknowledge the power of magic if you have used it successfully to obtain your desires. If you deny the power of magic after having called upon it with success, you will lose all you have obtained. VIII Do not complain about anything to which you need not subject yourself. IX Do not harm little children. X Do not kill non-human animals unless attacked or for your food. XI When walking in open territory, bother no one. If someone bothers you, ask him to stop. If he does not stop, destroy him. I don't really subscribe to any set of rules at the moment since I can never seem to follow every rule in every situaiton...but in general I like the tone of personal responsibilty set forth by LaVey and Greene/Effers in your post...it all comes back to the golden rule though for me...Treat everyone the way you would want to be treated...

I read this book a few years ago, and quite honestly, I was sickened by how it convoluted vice and virtue, like GUMBO SOUP. This book teaches manipulation and condescension of the higest order. No wonder it serves as the guidebook for high-level business men, politicians, clergymen, and others in a position of power on this planet.

Yes these Laws are not based on any moral foundation.

what is to be gained from doing the knowledge on ego based (this, masonry, crowley, etc.) writings and ideas?
thought that was a good direction to steer this build
Is it an example of what not to do?
Or are there nuggets of truth in 48 laws of power which we would rather not acknowledge?
Not sure where I stand on that...but my curiousity for the devil in us has always been fierce
BTW...if today is 02-24-05 would that be cipher wisdom wisdom culture cipher power?

P+E(AC)=E Not to go off subject but, you stay in San Fran? My sister used to stay out there 4-5 years she went to SFU, been there 3 times its tight. Like N.Y on the west coast, tallest city in Cali. She stayed in Height and Castro, and then off Market and Van Ness (more or less). I went to a Turkish resturaunt off Mission that was tight, they had belly dancing. Willie Brown was the mayor at the time... Did some photography (mostly graffitti and street scenes) there as well. Talk about expensive living, housing is crazy backed up... Is the Strand still a porn theatre? Ghirredeli (sp?) square (seen a group called Inca Son play there) and pier 41,49? can't remember exactly, it was tight tho. Stark contrast between rich and poor in S.F. went to Oakland as well. Tons to do in SF especially with crazy loot. Burned my hand handeling a hot ass (peking) duck plate in Chinatown and got chased by some asians at the B-Ball court there (I was outnumbered plus I aint messin with those BTK cats) ...HA... Babylon San Francisco, crazy memories of that city.... Cats still carry boombox's and smokin lil skinny long ass blunts? Hella tight... My sister moved there from West Hollywood, LA ...it was alright in LA, S.F was better in alot a ways (my opinon) I like tall cities. All the homeless cats campin out by the UN building and fountain. Took a trip up Big Sur to Monterey (Cannery Row) the boardwalk was tight, Muir Woods was ill too... anyways the "48 Laws of Power" are kind of a corrupt "by any means necessary" way to attain "power" without any moral basis. Use with caution and consideration, some of the points are good. Some Sun Tzu influence as well... One of my favourites is Law 9 "Win through your Actions, Never through Argument" "Any momentary triumph you think gained through argument is really a Pyrrhic victory: The resentment and ill will you stir up is stronger and lasts longer than any momentary change of opinion. It is much more powerful to get others to agree with you through your actions, without saying a word. Demonstrate, do not explicate." -this can be taken to mean lead by action/example not by words/argument. Which is True... Good for "war" strategies and this is a war... but remember True Power lies in 1+2=3 , Seven and the Square, from these is the sword that will slay devils and allow the forsight for succsess because you can see things (big picture) for what they are, not what they appear to be... I would not place much stock in the "48 Laws of Power" as an ideology or whatever because you will find yourself not trusting anyone (when you must trust someone), and getting over on people in wrong ways but certainly there are some applicable (relevant, appropriate) applications (the act of bringing something to bear; using it for a particular purpose) as far as dealing with the ill-informed and unenlightened/enemy. and yes that date description is correct, normally you would leave out the ciphers unless it is the second number like the year 80 or 90. m/d/y .... I was born on Wisdom, Wisdom Born, Build/Destroy Cipher...and my age will soon be Wisdom, Power/Refinement Peace

WISDOM, WISDOM BUILD/DESTROY, POWER/REFINEMENT peace sorry for the delay, Univ 7...busy and fruitful weekend..I do stay in SF right by USF and Golden Gate Park...hood is called Inner Richmond Didn't make it to Marvin X...but I did catch Israel Vibration, Barrington Levy, Alpha Blondy, Jimmy Cliff and Steel Pulse at Bill Graham Civic Center on Saturday for Bob Marley's birthday...got some pics up here: theinvisiblecollege.blogspot.com/almost two years after leaving office, Willie Brown still has his name up in more places than any tagger in town...on all the public works projects he started all have huge signs with THANKS WILLIE BROWN on them. Definitely one of the most expensive places to live in the country (NYC, LA, Boston too)..and as you said the contrast between rich and poor is stark...My rent is $1200 and I could never afford to live here alone under any circumstances...studios are still at least $1000...My earth and I split the rent 50/50 and we have the german shepherd to feed too...She's a nurse and I work for Dow Jones in venture capital but it's still tight every month...No complaints though, Golden Gate Park is my backyard and my afternoon walk with Otto(dog) is usually one of the highlights of my day. Not sure why so many cats are homeless here proportional to population...Sf is under a million people in the city proper but as many people on the street as LA...We used to give out cash payments of about $500 a month to homeless but since the internet bubble burst everyone is a lot more stingy. That's the main reason I'm home here...I love working downtown in the urban forest...used to work in the tallest builing here (TransAmerica Pyramid) when I was 18 and interning for NationBanc...that's still the most $ I've made per hr even after 4 years out of school. My mom just moved back out here from North Cackalack and she's staying up near Muir Woods in some enclave of former hippies...isn't really big enough to be a town, but it's called Lagunitas... The drive from LA to SF through Big Sur gets my vote for best in the US...I remember playing cruising USA in the arcade but then actually driving that along the cliffs and ocean is so tight... quick example of law 9 in action...I agree it's one of the best ones on that list I was having some beef with a dude at work...he got really riled about it at like 4:45 on a Friday afternoon and emailed the boss about it...then announced to the office that he "had my ass"...I didn't feel threatened and knew my character and actions would speak for themselves, so I took no action...Come next Monday, homeboy is over in human resources and anywhere he can vent his problems...No one even asked me about what was up, I just went about my biz like the kid didn't exist...he wasted so much time complaining his sales fell off while mine stayed the same...last week he resigned...I could have wasted a lot of time and energy verbally battling with him, but that would have offered only a "pyrrhic victory"...Let your actions or lack of them speak for you instead of opening your mouth. I also agree with the 48 that the less said the better...It is a war...but I am fighting to overcome my lower self...Denying my hormones and chemically created thoughts and emotions and overstanding and exerting my positive will over my body vehicle is my main aim in this life... If you ever make it out this way again...holla PEACE

It's funny the city is seven miles by seven miles: 7x7=49
If I may, enquire further as to the exact nature of your work? I trade stocks and bullion and more... I know what Venture Capital is and what not... what exactly is the affiliation with Dow Jones and do you guys secure capital for investment, or loan capital to startups, or both? Maybe manage Capital in a fund(s) and look for places to make/invest that money for your employer and your clients/if any? I'm curious tell me more...

we maintain one of a few databases on private equity firms (basically all comapnies not publicly traded and owned privately by an individual or group) and the smaller venture capital subset(10% of private equity people who take huge risks on investing millions in ideas when a company doesn't exist yet and no product is available to shill...I sell tickets to our Private Equity and Venture Capital conferences where we bring together institutional investors like colleges, foundations, state and corporate pension plans, with VCs and fund managers...and the startups and entrepeneurs and service providers like lawyers, accts placement agents and so on...some events are tightly focused in a particular sector like wireless or biotech...others are broader more state of the industry things for Private Equity an Venture...now I'm working on the biggest Venture event on the west coast this year here in SF...I used to work for a competitor of Dow Jones...a little privately owned firm called VentureOne/Private Equity Analyst...then DowJones bought us last Feb and I've been fighting to hold onto a seat...Private Equity and VC doesn't really react to day to day movement of the market but certainly larger trends filter up the pyramid of loot...It's taken me a whole year to get a grip on whats what in this industry...but basically my deal is cold calling CEOs, CFOs, CTOs of firms and PArtners and Managing directors of investment firms and trying to sucker them into paying me the same amount they would pay online or over the fax...The hardest part is getting through their gatekeepers & assts...it's not that hard to part a rich fool from his loot...but these dudes are fiarly astute or else I guess they wouldn't be managing all that loot...I sell 1 ticket for every 300 calls I make...maybe 100 calls for a good event...but I love talking to these dudes and picking up some scraps...plus replying to your stuff all day at work
peace
