Excellent thought!
We cannot speak of pain in literal terms, but in relative.
When we speak of pain, we create pleasure. When we speak of pleasure we create pain for one cannot exist without the other. We say left because we have right, some goes for pain.
Do you think that your "soul"/"mind" (whatever your views on those concepts are) can differentiate between pain and pleasure? Do you think the Divine can differentiate between good or bad? I’d like to think that it does not but is more than anything interested in gained evolutionary points.
These are literal terms, when we break them down and look at them holistically; they will ALL lead us into the same source. This is a "all roads lead to Rome" situation.
From one perspective, elevation is a pain... I whole-heartedly admit!!! On the other, it is a beautiful journey that takes us through different chambers of the universe, makes us stronger and wiser!
Like when you body-build, the acids build up in your muscle causing temporary pain. But isn't the muscle gain worth the "pain"? If you look at it that way, the pain becomes superficial, sort of pleasurable even if you will. It is just a transitionary period. A hurdle for the athlete.
God does not need to prove Itself! When something needs to be proved, it is already a flawed concept (in spiritual terms). A CONCRETE REALITY needs absolutely no substantiation but rather observation. We have a Universal Blueprint, some call it TAO, some call it MAAT and others GOD. This blueprint exists independent of our views/proofs of it; it is simply THERE.
The ultimate flaw lies within us, it is our negligence towards Universal Law. We have a tool at our disposition that on one side can be the deadliest one we can think of and on the contrary the most significant and productive one possible - FREE WILL!
On the side notes, my brother LHX is bringing forth his thoughts for others to build upon. I am speaking strictly for myself when I say this, but I find them helpful and extremely creative.
