I have been looking into astrophysics and astronomy lately.
Any science I approach, I only discover more and more intelligent/mathematic patterns in the universe. Whether it is anatomy and physiology, astronomy, physics, mathematics, there always exists a blueprint that these sciences are based upon.
Science is intelligence extracted from nature.
SPEED OF LIGHT and its TRAVEL has been fascinating me for some time.
Take a look at this diagram and marvel:
- Thereby, it takes light 1.2 seconds to travel from the moon to us!!!
- 8.5 minutes to travel 93.000.000 miles from the Sun to us!!!
- From Toronto to Vancouver or from New York to Los Angeles it would take light only 0.015 seconds!!! The distance of about 4300km or 3000 miles in a fraction of a second!
NOW…
At these tremendously high speeds, it would take light to travel 100.000 years to go through our galaxy!!!
That’s 100.000 years!
There are estimated to be billions of start in our galaxy!
There are billions galaxies (up to 700) in our universe.
That is 700 billion galaxies which contain from 100 to probably up to 1000+ stars!!!
The closest galaxy to Milky Way (where we rest at) is Andromeda Galaxy which is 3 million light years away! That means that light has to travel 3 MILLION YEARS to get to Earth!!!
The farthest galaxy lies about 14 BILLION light years away!!!
Keep in mind that the light we look at is the light of the occurrence that took place millions of years ago. If though the Hubble Telescope we can see galaxies that are 400 million light years away, that means we see the occurrence that happened 400 million years ago. Not what is happening at the current moment!
Facts like these make you wonder, and wonder deep!
The expression if the Creator is soooooo magnificent!
By looking at nature we can realize three fundamental attributes of the Creator:
* OMNIPRESENCE
* OMNISCIENCE
* OMNIPOTENCE
Omnipresence – life is present ALWAYS at ALL TIMES in ALL PLACES in the universe
Omniscience – The intelligence contained within nature and the universe is ETERNAL
Omnipotence – The ability to create is LIMITLESS. This is evidenced by the expression of life, from sub-atomic particles to most distant galaxies.
It seems like modern science tries to know the universe. This is impossible to do. It would be like counting all grains of sand on the beach!
What we can do though, is humbly step back and LOOK, LISTEN, OBSERVE and RESPECT nature and the whole universe. Revere it and learn from it.
Become the student rather than the teacher, the observer rather than the practitioner, humble rather than egotistic and all-knowing!
Anyway, I just wanted to share these current thoughts of mine. Makes you think…
