For those new members to the CRADLE, this is an x-citing jumping-on point for you, as well as for the rest of us, as we embark on what I hope to be an astounding journey. However, for those of us that are returning members of the previous CRADLE, this is a resurrection and/or resurgence of sorts, in that we are as the PHOENIX; rising from the ashes of the growing turmoil that was the previous CRADLE.
As such, I wanted to take a moment, as co-creator of v1.0, as well as current co-creator of this v2.0, to give my perspective on the untimely fate of the earlier version; an opportunity that was wrongfully stripped from me by my previous co-creator.
As is (and always was) stated via the mission statement demonstrated in the “WELCOME & DECREE” page, the CRADLE 2 THE GRAVE was created with the sole intent of creating a mentally, philosophically, culturally, and (most importantly) spiritually universal environment, in which the members could congregate amongst one another in equality.
That was the original intent, and make no mistake; it was the attempted deviation from that intention that led to v1.0's demise.
Thus, I find myself within a conundrum; when a LION strikes down a ZEBRA in the jungle, do we feel sad for the ZEBRA, or happy for the LION? If the ZEBRA gets away, who then do we feel happy/sad for? Similarly, I find myself juxtaposed between the sensations of sorrow and indifference.....
Part of me wishes that v1.0 had never closed; however, when I look around at the plushness of this v2.0, I realize that the previous incarnation’s closing was a necessity, lest I would not have had this wonderful opportunity to work with this rather talented new consortium that I am now blessed to be aligned with; lest this dream of mine–of ours–of this newest version of the CRADLE, would not have come to fruition.
Allow me to be most perfectly clear about something:
Contrary to the rather misleading (and not to mention one-sided) statements left in the wake of the CRADLE v1.0's closure, it was NEVER–despite my own personal ISLAMIC affiliations and inclinations–my intent to create an “ISLAMIC” website, under the auspices of the CRADLE, nor any other site under any other name.
I make this declaration for 2 reasons:
#1) Quite frankly and simply, I have/had absolutely no intentions to “reinvent the wheel”.......Meaning, I was totally uninterested in creating something that was already in x-sistence....
There are already DOZENS of ISLAMIC-oriented web sites all over the world wide web, all of which are doing a swell job (I say that tongue-in-cheek) of educating the Masses about ISLAM. What is to be gained from yet another one? What will a new x-clusively ISLAMIC web forum have/give, that the others somehow do not?
I found that utterly counter-productive, especially given the stipulations of my second reason:
#2) In lieu of such a redundant endeavor, I would much rather learn about the various cultures, ideas, spiritual systems, etc that I perhaps may not already know about (and despite accusations made to the contrary, I am indeed QUITE well versed in matters pertaining to ISLAM), as well as give others opportunities to do the same.
Though I fully and officially recognize ISLAM as my own spiritual foundation, I also fully recognize that it is not by any means, the only spiritual system in practice on this earth; certainly not the oldest, and by no means the most relevant (depsite the deafening claims of otherwise).
Please understand, this is by no means meant as a “diss” to those who feel otherwise. In fact, that is the very reason why I had co-envisioned the CRADLE to begin with (again, see the WELCOME & DECREE), both then and now; for the purpose of gaining/sharing knowledge on this and related matters.
Thus, there will be times during the course of this site's functioning, that I shall speak as a “MUSLIM”, and any/everything that entails, and there will also be times that I won’t (at least not to the untrained eye–and there are quite a few of those lurking about on the Net as of late.... ).
Consequently, if there are any here that feel uncomfortable with such a dichotomy, then I am both glad and sad simultaneously to tell you that perhaps this CRADLE is not for you after all; I am more than certain that there are websites out there (dozens, no less) that will fit your fancy.......All you have to do, “If you wish to become part of this ongoing development, you can contact {key individuals} for the address.”
Let it be known and understood, as I emphasize it once again, that none of this is meant as disrespect to any inferred parties......In fact, it is with all sincerity that I wish them all the best in whatever endeavors they embark upon, and I do hope that the sentiment is mutual.
And with that, I wish Peace & Blessings upon all who read this.
