this is a thread topic that has been on my mind for some time now.
I have been dealing with these online communications and forum-type atmospheres for a while now and i like the informal context and ease of communication
they are a great place to put thoughts out there and see how they look
that being said
we have been dealing with these philosophies and metaphysics for a while
tho a lot of it is nonsense, and looking into it too much can be unhealthy - there is value in having a enhanced and developed understanding of yourself and the context you live in
i will use this thread as a place to document my own experiments and observations
i considered setting up a blog, but blogs seem a little too ego-centric
i generally think of myself (in the social context) as a product of my relationships
the forum suits this just fine
this is one of three or four forums that i ever contributed extensively to
since i do not have much time to contribute to forums anymore, and since Civilison has designs on populating this place again, i have decided to attempt to assemble this piece here
as always - feedback is appreciated
Peace

Oooh snap...
Yeah it's important not to let information overpower your imagination. Also it's important to apply learned spiritual rules to our lifes to test their authenticity and practicality. Otherwise we get drowned in an ocean of facts and information and that could be more damaging than beneficial in the study of the truth.
At the same time it's pivotal to a man to have knowledge of self and the world around us. As with everything we gotta maintain that balance.
That's peace X! This is the perfect spot for you to drop this as this place is ripening! I'm sure you got something interesting worked out with your creative equations and I am looking forward to reading them.
I'll wait for your write outs and see how you break it down and I will add on as you go with your ideas.
Peace Brother

clock management and sleep
i can still recollect days of tossing and turning - trying to get to sleep
i knew that the next day would require me to be awake at a certain time, dressed at a certain time, and showing up at a certain place at a certain time
i find that being tied to a clock is unnatural and unhealthy, and there are a few ways to snap out of it - or at least - minimize the effects of the clock-work-style life
the ideal is to be able to go into business for yourself
altho self-employment is no picnic (since you are basically giving up the 9-5 life for a life which makes demands of you 24 hours a day), it alleviates the pressure of the rush
the sacrifice has a lot to do with being able to trust yourself to put in a good, full, long day of work on your own timelines and at your own discretion
this is not readily accessible for a lot of folks - but as i said - in many ways it is the ideal
if you are strapped to the clock - the only sure technique that i have found to be effective in alleviating time pressure is to develop a lifestyle which puts you in a position to be absurdly early for any regularly scheduled appointments
this is not easy to do, but it is effective as situations of feeling 'in a rush' are best to be avoided at all costs
try to be in a position where you never have to rush or get frustrated with a slow-moving circumstance
be in a position where if you see that the bus is about to reach your stop, your adrenaline doesnt start pumping and you can let it pass by to catch the next one
be in a position where you dont go nuts when you get stuck in traffic
at all possible junctures - try to be in a position where the clock isnt dictating your movements inasmuch as it is suggesting your movements
this is beneficial for many reasons
there is that old saying about early birds and worms, but lets reach back and take a peek at what our old boy Sun Tzu had to say about situations such as this:
"Those who are first on the battlefield and await the opponents are at ease; those who are last on the battlefield and head into battle get worn out.
"Therefore good warriors cause others to come to them, and do not go to others" - chapter 6
let your appointments come to you
let your work day begin with you in position ready to dish out a day of merking
dont put yourself in a position where you are already at a disadvantage simply by virtue of getting defeated by a clock
in relation to this - i opened this topic with a comment about sleep
here are some effective ways to avoid difficulties sleeping:
1. work your balls off until your body collapses. there will be no tossing and turning. guaranteed.
2. dont force yourself to sleep - ever. take advantage of situations where your body wants to be awake and do something with it - sacrifice a day of poor performance at your job and allow your body to become naturally fatigued at the end of the next day - if there is actually something interesting going on at work - your body will wake up for it anyway - so dont worry about it
3. practice getting into the habit of being able to sleep anywhere. examples: - bus - train - park bench - at your desk while sitting down and your head on your desk - local library
a short 10-15 minute loss of consciousness can do wonders for allowing the body to rejuvenate - will guarantee at least a good 2 - 3 hours of alertness if done right
please add on any sleep / time related wisdom that you may have
Peace
