My own formula:
a spiritually practical system, is successful only when complete...:
dualized by the yin/yang, shu/tefnut law into two aspects:
1 - the receptive: the inner self knowledge 2 - the active - the practical application of spiritual laws
thus,
a spiritual system is proper when it feeds the seeker's inner call for self knowledge (manifestation of ausar, 1st sphere - the union) and provides the seeker with practical means to carry them out in life in physical, mental, intellectual, financial, professional or any other fruition.
I've noticed a lot of systems I've studied, researched were not balanced in relevance to this formula meaning they were either too verbal, unpractical or too over exaggerated or shallow, misconstrued or misunderstood or extreme or even damaging.
The seeker of wisdom should benefit spiritually from his/her chosen system of thought in leading him towards a righteous life in an attempt to strive for eternal life.
I've found spiritual masters in all schools of thought - they all realized exactly the same thing.
We're surrounded by some fake enforcers, false prophets, wicked messengers and shallow spiritual masters.
Peace
