Peace everyone,
I've been going back and forth about this for years and wish I would have did it when my enlightener did it 10yrs ago. B.u.t., I'm about ready to change my name. I'm going to do it once I finalize the process of gaining my sovereignty. This should take me about another year or two.
B.u.t. to the point of my post. I wanted to know what y'all thought about the name Kemet Ra'h'Man Allah. I was for to use the name Ken Rahman Allah but I couldn't find the info I for as a kid the showed me that Ken meant 'understanding' in Chinese and I wanted to separate Rahman from the Muslim Rahman.
Ken Ra'h'Man Allah for me means 'Understanding the Sun of Man is God'. Kemet Ra'h'Man Allah is harder for me to break down like that and is the only reason I'm struggling with completely accepting this variation. I know that Kemet means 'The Black Land' but I don't know how to incorporate it with Ra'h'Man Allah.
I just thought though that maybe I can go with Kemetu (The Black) Ra'h'Man (Sun of Man) Allah (God) for 'The Black Sun of Man is Allah.
Tell me what y'all think.
Love, Peace and Happiness

i can relate to this dilemma
back in my big forum days - gaining new understandings - it felt like the person i was before had little bearing on the person i had become / was in the process of becoming
i remember being in situations where i had to fill out administrative paperwork and i almost signed the paper as "LHX"
it was a weird situation
over the past few years - submerging self back into society and going away from the forums - when i came back to the forums i found i had a difficult time getting behind the ol LHX name again
it almost seemed silly
a discussion i had with a friend a couple years back gave me some pause to consider the whole name situation
he was telling me how he had respect for Keith Murray's ability to bring the thunder using a given name - and i recall making the observation that names really have little significance when it comes to being of a character who walks with the foundation of the universe and makes decisions with the conviction of lightning bolts
at this point in time - i feel unattached to any name
those who come across me in my daily path are given a suggested string of syllables to refer to me by - and what they do with them is of little significance
my only interest in others is: what can we build together?
ill do my thing regardless of what label you want to attach to my physical
(mcluhan expressed the position that one of the worst things we do to our kids is give them names - they have a tremendous effect on the brain - labels are intense)

My enlightener gives a grat build on why one should change their name once they get to a certain point in their journey and I totally agree. Being an Asiatic name of color in America I understand the power of a name and I want to wash away this "given" name that has nothing to do with my ancestors.
Also when gaining sovereignty it's important to have a name that relates to your sovereign state.

...the importance of names is an interesting topic. "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet" ...but would it? How much importance does the name of something have, if any importance at all? I have this book - www.tauienterprises.com/store/p/350-African-Names.aspx - which goes into it somewhat. In the lecture I posted in the silver screen section under RA UN NEFER AMEN VIDEOS Amen touches on it briefly (Although I cant remember where exactly in the video it is). I'm undecided about it, but I might break out that book I mentioned when I get the time and maybe start up a thread about it. PEACE, BE STILL
