Peace everybody,
Nothing new under the sun, but, from recent studies and observations...
the earth is a living sphere consisting of co-existing and dependent biosystems. Looking at the overall evolution it has taken our planet 4.6 billion years to evolve into what it is today.
quickly, the planet started off as colliding space rock from the formation of our sun creating immense heat from the friction and activity. this lava filled sphere eventually cooled off on the top surface and created massive steam clouds causing a deluge lasting some thousands years. this water along with all the water from the smashing asteroids made mostly of ice is what gave our planet all the bodies of sea. the volcanic activity caused by the inner heat of the planet gave us land as emitted and cooled off lava. the phytoplankton in the oceans and and the combined forestry gave us the oxygen which the atmosphere carried along with all the other nutrients necessary to begin life. as this evolved we found more intricate systems to co-exist.
what grabs me the most in the study of geology is how time does its thing and how all systems are interconnected and indivisible. also how this relates to spiritual holistic abstract thinking in a science full of separate facts yet united by one whole reality.
also how each step in the physical creation of our planet was needed for the next one coming up to bring out the one ultimate outcome of creation. all praises due to the most high.
furthermore, under this link you can check out the documentary earth: the power of the planet which breaks this down in greater detail what gave me the motivation to create this thread. highly recommended, its long but worth it.:
