I just saw this film last night, and I'm already eagerly awaiting its release onto DVD.
This film was packed with everything that a flick of this genre needs; intrigue, humor, x-cellent characterization, etc.
It surpassed the first one by far, and that's really saying alot, because OCEANS 11 was x-cellent, IMO.
The film picks up where 11 left off, where we see the reprocussions caused from their great heist in the previous film.
No stone was left unturned in this one, as the writers went to great lengths to make the film seem "realistic" (a la BRUCE WILLIS).
Not necessarily any "deep knowledge" in the film of any sort, but MARTIAL ARTS fans ('sup O
) will be pleased at the 2+ minute CAPOEIRA choreography scene near the end. I was wondering why they chose the name "OCEANS 12", as opposed to "OCEANS 11 PART 2" or some other such title........That was thoroughly demonstrated in the film at the end, as the term in meant literally.
Speaking of which, I can't wait to see what they will do in OCEANS 13 (see my UPCOMING MOVIES thread for deatails).
Also, for those that don't know, the OCEANS series is actually a remake, based on the 1960 original, starring FRANK SINATRA's boys (DEAN, SAMMY, etc.
I've seen that one as well, and it's definitely worth checking out.
